of Teaching and Vision
Chris and Ashley Millar were married in 2013 and spent the first 6 years serving at University Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas. Chris has a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and Ashley has a Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas medical branch. Having been called by God to start a new church in San Marcos, Texas, with the full support of their sending church, University Heights, they now are investing their lives into this new work of making Jesus known. They feel spoiled by God to call Caleb and Ella their son and daughter and to be a family on mission with them.
of Discipleship and Operations
Eric and Candace have been married since 2010 and have 2 kids, Grey and Owen. Eric’s life was transformed by the grace of God through Jesus when he was a freshman at Texas State University. From that point on Eric felt the call into full time ministry and has served the local church in various pastoral roles for 18 years. He has his Master’s from Criswell College and Candace has her Masters degree from Texas State in Social Work and is a practicing counselor in the city. Both Eric and Candace have had a desire to plant a church in San Marcos for almost 10 years and are blessed to see The Well come to fruition by God’s goodness and plan. Both being Bobcat alum, they have a heart for college students and discipleship and seek to bring the good news of Jesus to the campus, the city and the world.
James and Shannon have been married since 2005 and they welcomed their son Gatlin into their family in 2008. They have always felt that God called their family to have sandals of readiness to be willing to go wherever He would lead them. James, through his entrepreneurial spirit and heart for evangelism, has been making Jesus known in his everyday life, whether that was through his business that he started or through the various ministries of their sending church, University Heights. Shannon’s compassionate heart has been demonstrated through 20 years in the veterinary industry, teaching on a college campus, and serving women in both the women’s ministry and the college ministry at University Heights. In 2019, they said yes to Jesus and moved to San Marcos as a family on mission to help start The Well.
